Stemningsstabiliserende medicin

Medicinen bruges, som navnet indikerer, mod epilepsi. Visse antiepileptika kan i et vist omfang benyttes til behandling af depression og angst. Pregabalin virker ved at binde sig til kaliumkanaler i cellen. Det er et relativt nyt lægemiddel i angstbehandlingen, men har længe været brugt forebyggende mod epilepsi. Mod angst anvendes det primært ved generaliseret angst.
